Competition Rules

1. GENERAL RULES

1.1 ALL PRINTS entered for Club Competitions must

a. Have a minimum side length of 7 inches (18cms).

b. Be mounted on a board or in a folder.

1.2 ALL SLIDES entered for Club Competitions must

a. Be mounted in a 2 inch (5 cms) square mount

b. Be correctly spotted in the bottom teft hand comer as viewed from the front.

1.3 ALL PRINTS AND SLIDES entered for Club Competitions must bear the author's name. It is asked that Club Members do not repeatedly offer the same prints or slides in Club Competitions.

1.4 PROMOTION OR DEMOTION from class to class will be decided by the Committee in consultation with the Member concerned, using the number of points gained in the season as a guide.

1.5 IN THE EVENT OF A TIE in any competition where points are awarded, the Member receiving the most 10s will be deemed the winner. If a tie still exists then the Member receiving the most 9s will be deemed the winner etcetera.

2. OPEN PRINT COMPETITIONS

2.1 There will be two classes A. Intermediate B. Advanced

2.2 A maximum of six prints may be entered by each Member. Prints can be either monochrome or colour, trade or self processed and on any subject.

2.3 Each print will be awarded up to a maximum of 10 points by the Judge, these being accumulated towards the class trophy for the season. Only the highest two marks per person from each competition will go forward for this purpose.

2.4 The Member who accumulates the most points in their class will be awarded the trophy of that class, which is to be held for one year.

3. OPEN SLIDE COMPETITIONS

3.1 There will be two classes A. Intermediate B. Advanced

3.2 Each Member may enter up to two slides in each competition on any subject. A third slide (which must be identified as such) may be entered. At the Committee's discretion, all of the "third" slides may be withdrawn from the competition.

Addendum: Some or all of the "third" slides may be a subject set by the committee.

3.3 Each slide will be awarded up to a maximum of 10 points by the Judge, these being accumulated towards the class trophy for the season. Only the highest two marks per person from each competition will go forward for this purpose.

3.4 The Member who accumulates the most points in their class will be awarded the trophy of that class, which is to be held for one year. See rule 1.5.

3.5 Slides are to be handed to the Competition Secretary one week before each competition.

4. THE COUNTY TROPHY COMPETITION

4.1 The County Trophy - which is to be held for one year - will be awarded to the author of the best panel of slides submitted.

4.2 Slides must have been taken on the current seasons Club Outing.

4.3 There will only be one class.

4.4 The Committee will decide annually the number of slides which will comprise the panel and how many panels may be entered.

5. SET SUBJECT COMPETITION

5.1 There will be one class only.

5.2 The competition is for the best slide. The number of slides entered to be decided by the Committee.

5.3 The winner will be asked to select next season's subject and will have the opportunity to judge the entries if wished.

6. ANNUAL EXHIBITION COMPETITION

6.1 PRINTS

a. A panel of prints, which will be unlimited in number, shall be entered for the MILL CAMERA GROUP TROPHY.
b. This will be a one class competition.
c. The Member with the best panel of prints will be awarded the trophy which is to be held for one year.

6.2 SLIDES

a. 3 slides will be entered as a panel for the COTTEE TROPHY.
b. This will be a one class competition.
c. The Member with best panel of three slides will be awarded the trophy which is to be held for one year.

7. NEW CLUB MEMBERS

may be asked to submit five prints and/or slides for assessment and be classed accordingly.

8. COMMITTEE

may alter these rules as necessary at their discretion.
